realoem shows a washer that goes between the bushing and the differential case, #9 below. It also shows the front differential bolt as #9. Is there a washer that belongs there? If so, anyone have a part number?

From an engineering standpoint, I would add some grease between the bolt head and the washer to minimize the friction when torqueing the bolt to prevent the bushing inner sleeve twisting which leads to premature failure of the rubber bush.Originally posted by jayjaya29 View PostThe washer is captive on the bolt..

Same M14. I went with a non-OE bolt with an unthreaded shank for the portion of the bolt that runs through the bushing and combined it with a 31mm nordlock, the bolt is the 70mm long one.

Do you think that the Nord-lock washer increases twisting on the bushing?Originally posted by sapote View Post

The serrated Nord lock should reduce the twisting somewhat, not increase.Originally posted by Randall921 View Post

If the bolt came with integrated washer then I wouldn't add a Nord-lock washer to it as this reduces the thread length of the bolt. Instead I would add medium strength locktie on threads.
Btw, having the Nord-lock under the washer would reduce its locking effectiveness. It should be directly under the bolt head.

FWIW I used the non-enlarged Nordlock (cut off stock washer) as I didn't see the enlarged version was available, if I were to do it again I would get the larger washers.
I used a paint marker so I could see if the bolt starts to back out and so far so good.2004 Silbergrau Metallic 6MT
