    Front Differential Mount Washer

realoem shows a washer that goes between the bushing and the differential case, #9 below. It also shows the front differential bolt as #9. Is there a washer that belongs there? If so, anyone have a part number?

The washer is captive on the bolt.

The other washer is integrated into the bushing #8. Its not available separately, nor does it need to be.

I believe it is only on the older version of that bushing, and it is integrated to the bushing on later versions.

Use a nordlock! Cheap insurance to avoid loosening, which can happen with this joint.

Been checking this out. The M14 or enlarged M14? I know it's been discussed but I haven't seen a definitive answer. Also, you need to cut off the captive washer?

From an engineering standpoint, I would add some grease between the bolt head and the washer to minimize the friction when torqueing the bolt to prevent the bushing inner sleeve twisting which leads to premature failure of the rubber bush.

Same M14. I went with a non-OE bolt with an unthreaded shank for the portion of the bolt that runs through the bushing and combined it with a 31mm nordlock, the bolt is the 70mm long one.

Do you think that the Nord-lock washer increases twisting on the bushing?

The serrated Nord lock should reduce the twisting somewhat, not increase.
If the bolt came with integrated washer then I wouldn't add a Nord-lock washer to it as this reduces the thread length of the bolt. Instead I would add medium strength locktie on threads.

Btw, having the Nord-lock under the washer would reduce its locking effectiveness. It should be directly under the bolt head.

The Nord-lock washer should be larger than the bolt head. If it's the same size then it's useless.

Cool, thanks guys. Just ordered the washer and bolt that maupineda recommended. That looks perfect.

FWIW I used the non-enlarged Nordlock (cut off stock washer) as I didn't see the enlarged version was available, if I were to do it again I would get the larger washers.

I used a paint marker so I could see if the bolt starts to back out and so far so good.

Good thread. We should put this info into the maintenance / lockdown sticky thread.
