    TPS reset after replacement?

thought this is an easy job then it turned into a frustrating debug process.

got a random throttle related code (once) couple months ago, so decided to change the TPS (front) while doing my oil change as a preventive job this time.
(but car was driving fine after other SMG errors getting addressed with (GPS))

so car was driving fine before tonight's TPS replacement
then after new one in(the Hamburg-Technic brand - bought two), i noticed the car pops up with
    DSC yellow warning + EML.

quick search it shows it's TPS error, i couldn't erase it with code scanner, tried the reset procedures
    1. foot fully down on acceleration pedal (holding)
    2. crank key to position 2
    3. wait for 10+ seconds

1st attempt, DSC light went off, but EML still on, after engine start, still error

2nd attemp, i can't even turn off DSC light

so what went wrong here?? . Orz..

is it bad sensor?? is there any specific tricks i need to do or be aware with?

    ================================================== =========================
Tried the second TPS, still same issue

changed back to old TPS, problems resolved.

    part # i got is: 13637840383, Hamburg-technic
what are the chances that both TPS are bad???? strange ..

Unfortunately with these cars, it's always the safest bet to go with a Genuine BMW sensor. I've heard of people even having issues with an OEM VDO sensor.

There are two sensors in the engine bay and one in the gas pedal.

      Search would be your friend.

Thank you for giving me some clues~
but i did my order from realoem part# search, i intend to get TPS for the engine bay ones .. 13637840383 looks correct from the diagram though..

hope the ones i received were actually for the gas pedal ones..so i don't have to deal with useless parts
