Sunbeam Section 3: first Impression’s, Thoughts and opinions

I said this on Facebook and I'll say it again, you'd be spending over 2k to make your M3 sound like a VQ.

Car already sounds bad, spending money to sound bad is stupid.

Yes dude, exactly. Thank you. It sounds so bad and it’s so loud, if it sounded like shit and was at least quiet, that would be better for the world as a whole, wouldn’t it? Don’t we suffer enough as a species already?

I’m currently running:
- euro headers
- euro catted sec 1
- stock sec 2
- Valvetronic section 3

All I hear is rasp. Rasp at its finest. I hate rasp! If I ever sell my E46 it’ll be because of my hate of the rasp. 😂

I just ordered Supersprint Resonated sec 2 x-pipe to see how that goes. I saw in an older thread someone saying that a resonated section 2 will eliminate or atleast significantly reduce rasp.🤞🏽

Scorza would make your setup up sound perfect.

The move was the dual SS 2.5 resonated sec 2, that resonator does serious work. The X pipe while it will tone down rasp will be louder and change the tone of the exhaust, also 3in not 3.5in so less flow than the OEM dual 2.37in pipes.

My favorite exhaust note was oem euro headers, stock sec 1 and 2, and scza.

Look, until you drive with a Dixie Sec 3 you’ll never know pure joy and love of ours cars. My favorite is the cold start in the morning, the exhaust has a nice growl, drone 3k and below is terrible, after that it mellows and is hardly noticeable.

Set up; Euro headers/cats, OEM Sec 2, Dixis.

This sounds very similar to the Vivid TI exhaust (AP rep) I had. It is stupidly loud I'm certain that I caused slight damage to my hearing. It was like listening to M80s going off every second driving down the road.

Yes I can definitely hear rasp, however it does sound good. I just wouldn’t go catless.
