    Finally getting around to headers + exhaust...
    Anybody running Euro headers + Sunbeam Section 1 combo? How is it?

    What's a good price for Euro headers?

    I traded CSL headers for a genuine CSL trunk to someone in LA and he’s running a sunbeam section 1 - sounded pretty clean.

    Pricing depends on condition, but expect to pay around $1,000 for a used set.

        Someone just posted this exact setup on IG. Sounded awful to me.

        Here's my take after 16 years:

        Our exh doesn't sound good to bystanders except maybe after like 6k where it's screaming (esp with certain mods).

        I think you have to decide if you care that much what others think vs what you hear behind the wheel.

        If yes, get long tube headers (or ARH tho I don't condone) which would be og Supersprint tubulare or the reps - fabspeed, aa, sgt, ebay. Then get a SS or SGT x pipe (actually a long Y). Resonated if SS, unresonated if SGT (pm and I can double check on that with my friend).

        Then dixis or scorza or ss race or gruppeM/rep type muffler.

        Loud af and glorious esp after 4k - check the old video on youtube of the alpineweiss with this setup.

        You lose power, but sound is epic given how bad the e46 m3 is by default.

        Euro headers and their reps (aa, megan) are shorty style headers and are raspier. Also don't make quite as much power as long tube nevermind stepped longtube.

        Imo, forget exh, leave it stock (get catless headers tho) and get an airbox because it's insane and because there's no other car on the road making that noise.

          I’m not running those exactly, but pretty much. I have Megan Racing headers, and the Bomiz equal length catted section 1. Also a super sprint resonated y pipe. Almost all the rasp is gone.

            Well... I guess it eliminates the rasp but I'm a huge fan of rasp. My "clean" comment was really just that it sounded smoothed out, which I guess is the intention. I don't like the overall tone, but to each their own.

                  I keep looking over exhaust options all the time with this car, for years now. Its pretty cool the different options and combinations you can make to get the sound you want, kinda sorta.

                  I have an El Diablo on cause it came with the car. I don't mind it, but its a little on the quiet side. I remember seeing a video from Carmen on BlackRedGold (not sure if you guys remember that) back in 2003 or 2004 and he had a full Supersprint setup with an SS Race and i loved it. Listening to that now, its more tinny than I remember.

                    I'm a fan of euro headers, euro sec 1, supersprint resonated xpipe, supersprint sport sec 3. This is my ideal combo (which I haven't run). Just have the supersprint sport sec 3 with OE karb box + eventuri atm which is has been solid.

                      If you're considering the Sunbeam Sec 1 or literally any equal length Sec 1, understand that that setup is designed around a tone and overall sound and not performance.

                      Most of us that added headers to our cars did it for the the gains (LOL)

                      Euro Headers, Stock Sec 1 with dual resonators, Stock Sec 2, and a tamer muffler is a good starting point.

                        All things equal (lol) üro headers and a nice muffler sound best. Hit it brev, whats the worst that can happen :P
