Any Style 163M Wheel (F&R) 3D scans out there?

Looking to have a custom forged set made and I like these to be very close to a true 1:1 design. Figured I'd check here first if the 3D scans already exist before I end up having to do it myself. Thanks.

Anyone who's seen both the ZCP and CSL fronts, can you comment on any wheel face design differences between the two? Will be designing off my ZCP set, but will have the fronts sizing adjusted to CSL spec.

PS: Got the forum a group buy discount with a pretty low wheel set order count needed. So I think a discount will be there for those that may be interested. I don't mind ordering and receiving my wheels first, so that everyone can see for themselves how they turn out. I'll start a specific thread when the time comes, but if I have to 3D scan the faces myself it will probably be a month+ until I would hypothetically place my order.

I feel the CSL front spokes are more “wavy” but that’s purely anecdotal based on feel, not measurements.

Not to plug an old vendor of the forums, but Matt @ Euroconnex offers a forged CSL wheel set for $3,000 USD (CAD?). Don’t know how well they measure up against the form of true CSL wheels, but there is one option out in the market.

Edit: “starting” at $3,000, which I assume is for 18” and the standard concavity option.

Specifications:  Monoblock 8000 ton forged blanks Load rating optimization for lightness or strength Lighter than OEM: 670kg load rating Stronger than OEM: 800kg load rating Back pad weight optimization is standard Weights: 670 kg load rating: 22.xx lbs / 10.xx kg 800 kg load rating: 24.xx lbs / 11.xx kg Concave profil

I am having an utterly terrible experience with Matt. I will post about that at a later time. But what I will say, is I placed an order for a CSL diffuser in November after he told me that "they are currently in production for inventory, should be ready in two weeks." That was over 3 months ago, and still no diffuser. He's been slow to respond, so much so that I reached out to his supplier, who told me that they "got slammed with orders mid Dec., and that Euroconnex batches people's orders into one big order." So I am assuming he didn't even submit my order to them well after I had placed it with him. 2 weeks vs 3 months. I will never do business with this person again.

This is no surprise. Plenty of existing evidence of this and I assume he's banned for some variation of this reason. Gt4 makes perfect quality diffusers FYI.

Back on topic, subscribed to this and excited to see where this goes. I'm sure many will have opinions on construction and what perfect fitment would be. I'm certainly interested if the price isn't astronomical.

I have a friend who's doing 2 sets of forged CSL wheels right now in 19x9 et25 & 19x10 et25. I will post pictures and more details once they are made and he get them

No need to send me pm please. Will post more infos when he has them in hand to see actual quality/finish.

I knew he was banned on here, and prior to contacting him I did check out some of his last posts/threads but the reason wasn't blatantly obvious. From context I actually figured it was b/c he was abusing the forum for his own gain. Regardless, I gave him a shot and here we are. There is a bit more to the story, and I am waiting for the diffuser to get here before I create a specific thread about my experience. Carboproject themselves confirmed that they were working on my order, so I am still somewhat confident it will get here eventually. We'll see though.

Anyway, regarding the wheels. I had wheels made for my X3M a little over a year ago using these guys. Their whole shtick is, they design whatever you want, period. Once you approve the final design they have it manufactured overseas and drop ship it. Once the design was finalized and approved by me, manufacturing took 3-4 weeks, and then it was another 3 weeks for shipping. So that's what I am going to do with these. I already get a discount for being a return buyer, so a group buy has no impact on me.

The ball is entirely in my court. The wheels can be designed based on pictures and measurements I take to get it close, or the design process can start from a 3D scan (of the faces at least ) for the best chance of a 1:1.

Any deviation from stock specs will alter the design to some extent to meet the desired load rating requirements. And since we are starting with a ZCP front and I want to go 8.5 wide, I am already going to be altering the design somewhat anyway. I don't know for a fact, but I trust that visually they should be pretty similar.

Every person at the group buy price will be able to specify desired widths and offsets for their own set provided that they are clear about the above. They'll be able to choose their own finish as well, but they may have to pay a bit more if they get all fancy (although I don't know the particulars of that just yet). So as far as opinions on fitment and construction go, they should be able to do whatever they want individually. The only pre-requisite on the discount, the way I understand it, is that those that want to participate just need to do so during the same time period.

I'll organize everything when the time comes. Only hold up is the 3D scans. I have access to one, but it will be a weekend out of my time, and I need to get some other car stuff done first. So it may be up to 2 months from now. If someone in the community has time and access to a scanner and the wheels (in the perfect world CSL fronts), we can get the ball rolling as soon as we have the scans.

If people want to be cautious and wait for my set to arrive first, I would have no problem placing my order. Or I can share pictures and info of my process with my X3M wheels. These guys are based out of California and primarily service the Porsche community, and their wheels end up on all sorts of 911's including GT3's and Turbo's.

Anyway, that is my long winded post in hopes of dangling a carrot in front of someone to make those 3D scans sooner than I can. And although I didn't want to mention pricing until I had an official thread up and finalized designs, the group price will be $3000 shipped per set with a 3 set minimum. I am really trying to community farm those scans haha.

Yeah, sorry to bring up a clearly sensitive situation with an old, banned vendor. I didn’t want to be the guy that added anything more negative than what many have experienced with him, but looks like not much has changed.

I *might* be grabbing a set of CSL wheels this week, so if I do I’ll shoot them over to whomever needs to scan the front wheel.

                  Fingers crossed.

Absolutely no worries at all. That guy just sucks. Good luck with the CSL wheels! I hope you get them. Not sure about logistics on getting one to the east coast, but let me know.
