E46 M3 diff mesh pattern

I just rebuild my diff with 4.1. Can you guys tell me if the pattern looks ok?

Not too bad but it's better to add a shim on pinion to get the pattern low on the tooth; it's too close to the tooth crown on the drive side now.

Is a bit deep, that is why you have a straight line towards the root of the teeth on the coast side. Are you using the original shims from the oe setup or are you starting from scratch?

pattern is too close to the heel or toe is not a problem.

I am using original shim pinion shim from OE set up. But I use racing diff carrier shim kit.

The line you see from the root on the tooth of the coast side is most likely shadow from light. I looked at it the pinion did not make that line.

I will share some of the different patterns I got when I did mine. Then you can make up your own mind
