    BlueBus “Noise”

Curious whether other BlueBus users have encountered greater than normal background/white noise. Other inputs don’t demonstrate the same noise. If you’ve been able to cut it out, how did you do it?

No, the only issue I've had is intermittent choppy audio. It is solved by turning bluetooth on and off on my phone. Some kind of glitch.

I've been running into this issue recently. It happens occasionally and only happens in BT mode like you said, not with the radio or CD. It is also volume dependent.

      Then, overnight, it goes away.

There are a bunch of possible noise sources. There is an issue thread on the BlueBus GitHub project page that lists two potential noise sources:
          • i-bus interference that sounds like clicking; I don't think you can get rid of this
          • alternator whine due to a ground loop and/or leaky alternator diodes; you can fix this with a ground loop isolator (see the thread).
            • I recently added a ground loop isolator to my BlueBus and it definitely helped eliminate background hum. I recommend you start here. I believe you can even purchase one from t3ddftw.
An additional source of noise I've encountered is in the CD53 head unit itself and seems to be caused by failed solder joints internally. A few solid taps on my head unit will quiet it down when it acts up. Though a really rough bump will unfix it for me.

And if your previous owner did any re-wiring of the car for you... Good luck. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
