Doctors and 911s, a rite of passage 🤣 Now for the divorce and alimony payments.Originally posted by terra View Post
Market is pretty insane on those too these days from what I see. I think I'll probably go with a T for 'now' (or an S if the manual comes on those this year as rumored) and then step up to a GT3/T if I ever get an allocation
I'm kidding Terra, its awesome you're at a place you can buy what you want within reason. I remember when you were in school (at least I hope I'm right and it was med school, pretty sure).2003 | 3.91 | CMP Subframe & RTAB Bushings | SMG (Relocated & Rebuilt) | ESS Gen 3 Supercharger | Redish | Beisan | GC Coilovers & ARCAs | Imola Interior | RE Rasp | RE Diablo | Storm Motorwerks Paddles | Will ZCPM3 Shift Knob | Apex ARC-8 19x9, 19x9.5 | Sony XAV-AX5000 | BAVSOUND | CSL & 255 SMG Upgrades | Tiag | Vert w/Hardtop

Haha yeah it's been a long road but been an attending for a few years now. Though can't get divorced if I'm not married (hopefully sooner than later, but I'm also ready for a 911 in my life lol). It is definitely very annoying that the P-car market kinda went nuts as I came into the position to start playingOriginally posted by oceansize View Post

New 911 prices for a T or S are easily 170-200K. For that price or a bit more you could get a 997 GT3 or 991.2 GT3. The GT cars will hold value as you've seen. The best time to buy one is - now. Lol.
I would suggest finding a GT3 to drive before you go buying a T or S.
The experience is - totally - different.Last edited by dreamdrivedrift; 06-17-2026, 07:20 AM.

To OP, lots of good thoughts already. I'd say keep it simple - if owning the car still brings you joy then keep. If not sell. The amount of miles driven shouldn't be the deciding factor IMO. If logic ruled then no one would own 20+ year old cars.Interlagos 06 M3, Dinan Champion wheels, Autologic tune, Agency Power midpipes/exhaust, Fortune Auto coilovers, UUC SSK, Bluebus, Lightwerkz retrofit. 05CherryM3 Don't part with it you just need a spark to rekindle your lost flame with it, I recommend joining a track day with it on a proper circuit you're bound to make friends there and stay connected as lots of e46 m3's and e36 m3's are found on track. From the sound of it the car seems to be part of your identity, no price point, the quality and rawness of the e46 m3 is unmatched compared to the newer generations the bloodline of the m3 ended with the e46 m3 the "ultimate driving machine" is of no more. Therefore all the reason not to let it go everyone that parts with the e46 m3 deep down regrets it and or remembers the good feeling of it. And thats a fact.

Id keep it. Ive only put 6,600 miles on my E36 M3 since 2011. Ive had that car since I was 18, I'm 38 now. Did that make me wanna sell it, hell no lol. I went and added an E46 M3 to the mix and drive them both now. I just put a clutch and flywheel in the E36 so I'll use that alot more now. I get shit happens, I lost both parents and a sibling in that time and the car stuff almost disappeared for me for a few years while life was happening, but I held on to it/added and I'm so happy I did. Its therapy at this point for me and something I can share with my daughter now too.
I'm also in Morris County, I always got my eyes peeled for other M3s around.
