    Braking & DSC/ABS issue

I’ve been chasing a strange issue that appears to have recently started over the past month or so.

My M3 is a 6/02 production so has the MK20 module. I have never really experienced the “ice” ABS intervention that is often talked about. I’ve pushed the car pretty hard over the past 5.5 years of ownership without issue.

Now, when taking a sweeper at speed such as a tighter off ramp, I’m getting premature DSC intervention followed by about a second of unneeded ABS lockup when I do get on the brakes. I need to test more with DSC turned off to see if the symptoms are the same. I have scanned the MK20 for codes and there are none. Data logging WSSs shows that they are all reporting accurate speeds.

I’m running Zimmerman rotors with G-loc GS1 pads and the brake flex lines are fresh. Motul 660 brake fluid.

I’m wondering if it is at least one dragging caliper as I also have been getting progressively worse brake squeal especially when getting the brakes nice and hot. The squeal happens even when not applying brake pressure and sometimes gets worse when turning the wheel at lower speeds. I’m not getting any real other symptoms associated with a dragging caliper(s) such as veering under braking. Brake temps seem fairly uniform when checking.

My next step is to rebuild the front calipers (now at 83k miles) but curious if anyone has experienced something like this before?

    Thanks!
