    Braking & DSC/ABS issue

I’ve been chasing a strange issue that appears to have recently started over the past month or so.

My M3 is a 6/02 production so has the MK20 module. I have never really experienced the “ice” ABS intervention that is often talked about. I’ve pushed the car pretty hard over the past 5.5 years of ownership without issue.

Now, when taking a sweeper at speed such as a tighter off ramp, I’m getting premature DSC intervention followed by about a second of unneeded ABS lockup when I do get on the brakes. I need to test more with DSC turned off to see if the symptoms are the same. I have scanned the MK20 for codes and there are none. Data logging WSSs shows that they are all reporting accurate speeds.

I’m running Zimmerman rotors with G-loc GS1 pads and the brake flex lines are fresh. Motul 660 brake fluid.

I’m wondering if it is at least one dragging caliper as I also have been getting progressively worse brake squeal especially when getting the brakes nice and hot. The squeal happens even when not applying brake pressure and sometimes gets worse when turning the wheel at lower speeds. I’m not getting any real other symptoms associated with a dragging caliper(s) such as veering under braking. Brake temps seem fairly uniform when checking.

My next step is to rebuild the front calipers (now at 83k miles) but curious if anyone has experienced something like this before?

    Thanks!

    What about tire slip?

Also curious if a failing front wheel bearing could cause these issues. Rebuilt calipers are installed on the front and am still getting excessive brake pad drag. The front right wheel has no side to side play but has noticeably more resistance to turn. That should be a pretty telltale sign that it may be wheel bearing related right?

There are two pressure sensors on the master cylinder. You can real live stream on the scanner. It may be the sensors, just a thought. It triggered my DSC light. Changed them out and no more issues.
But I didn't have any ABS intervention.

Im having a similar issue but not exact, track braking issue.

My car's an 06 Comp, MK60 with a PFC ZR45 BBK. There's a specific turn at Mosport, Turn 4, blind over crest downward left hander that you generally take with a dab of brake then apex north of 110mph (180kph plus). I've recently been able to take it without braking at all just lift and throttle. If I reach the braking zone with this new speed I hit ABS ice and its not nice as the braking zone is short abrupt into and uphill portion.

MK60 cars run into this as well?
