Are there preferred options other than OEM for wheel speed sensors (i.e. Bosch, ATE, etc.)? The OEM is pretty darn expensive. BMW part # 34521165609. Thanks.

What are the indications that point to bad wheel speed sensor. Been down this path before and maybe can help you NOT do the same.Originally posted by BMWE46M3 View PostAre there preferred options other than OEM for wheel speed sensors (i.e. Bosch, ATE, etc.)? The front left caliper started pulsating while driving without my foot even on the brake pedal. I ran my scanner and came up with failed wheel speed sensor. And if I disable the DSC the problem goes away. I have not jacked up the car yet to confirm any issues with the sensor or ring but my suspicions are leading me to the sensor. Was your problem similar? Thanks.

No pulsation but had bunch of lights on in dash. Car was in limp mode. Also got “bad wheel speed sensor” as the code.
Turns out it was the connector coming from inside the car to the rear wheel. It was corroded and falling apart.
Worth a look before you start replacing things. These cars are old.
Let me know what you find and good luck with repair.
