I've also heard the Angel Eye Guy sells a good product. I have not used him though.

If so, that doesn't work when the headlamps are off during daytime. Which is one of the major reasons BMW's "corona lights" aka "halos" are used, during daytime instead of "daytime running lights".

Ok, well as you said it's your opinion. Not sure I follow the reasoning it would look tacky on the E46 when BMW came out with them on the E39 in 2001(early in E46 run) and have had them in every generation since. But ok, maybe a purist would not like them. And agreed there are certainly a lot of cheesy looking versions on the market that should not be sold much less be installed by anyone with taste.
How are they going to rub through the xenon lenses? The xenons use an ellipsoid glass eye it shines through, unlike a parabolic reflector lens like the halogens. I've had them for some 15 years and never had them rub.
When the headlight auto-levels, the aftermarket halos will bind against the black plastic shroud and and the projector housing. The housing was not designed to put a plastic ring with lights around it.

I go back and forth on them halo rings. I just wish someone would make yellow/lightly golden ones like in the e39 series. I feel that would compliment the era of the car

Yea, I got the standard version as opposed to the opaque as a more "factory look" of that era. But I sure as shit don't want to damage my headlights for a halo effect. I've got to research more before I just buy stuff like this. Pressing the "buy" button for E46 M3 parts is like a drug for me currently.

The kits are designed to fit. I’m sure there are some cheap eBay kits that don’t, but any reputable one will.
I have never experienced this issue you described.

I think the period correct E39 spectrum looks pretty good on the E46.

Is that a ZHP bumper on an M3? Why?

                              No it is not.
M-Tech 2 on a coupe before zhp was released.

Huh TIL that the ZHP package was only available on facelift cars. So are you saying that's a pre-facelift coupe with the M-Tech 2 bumper, an M3 hood, and M3 mirrors?
