I hear that. And thanks for sharing your view.

I’m still waiting on the quote so haven’t decided on who to use just yet. Will report back once the work has been done though. It will be documented so I may do a separate thread illustrating the process - I dunno yet though, let’s see.

Just to update this but I received the quote from BMW today. It's slightly more than the figure mentioned in conversation with the bodyshop manager earlier this week, but is still reasonable nonetheless.

I also took the opportunity to have another chat with the manager to discuss some further queries that I had which he answered confidently.

Will sleep on it before committing but at current I see no reasons to not proceed with BMW.

It’s a UK BMW main dealer with an in-house bodyshop.

The dealer recently became a Classic Partner (see more info here).

A smidge over £10,000 for the entire car (i.e. glass out, doors off). The quote includes parts (i.e. new front wings, badges, seals etc.) as well.

Quotes received from independent bodyshops range between £7,000 and £15,000, but that doesn’t include parts.

                    That's pretty reasonable.

                    Send it!

                        Especially from BMW themselves.

When he goes to sell, saying it was repainted by BMW's Classic programe certainly sounds better than saying it got resprayed by Bob's house of Paint down the street.

LOL. Funnily enough my name is Bob, but I do not have a house of paint down the street…
