I just finished an install of Recaro ABEs, looking for some help with a couple things related to power seats:
- what is the part number of the E30 non-illuminated power seat switch, all I can find is the illuminated one
- where do you get the little bracket that bolts onto the side of the seat rails in which the switch sits?
- does anyone know of a good DIY in general for all of this wiring?

My seat harness only has one thick ground wire while the E30 switch pigtail has two- just like in DvSkD4 picture. I connected the motor wires (2), power, and one ground (all my seat harness has) from the seat harness to the E30 switch. As suspected the seat only moves in one direction which would mean one ground is disconnected (the one I didn’t plug to the switch). But again, my seat harness only has one thick ground. Am I missing something? Could ground be another thick wire from the harness? Hope that makes sense lol‘04 M3

I have a question on the comparison between the nogaro’s and the Porsche bucket seat. I’ve found a supplier that makes a replica Porsche GT seat (In China off Tik Tok) they would be about $7k (plus shipping and further modification) they look identical to the real ones. My question is how do the Porsche seats compare in comfort to the Nogaro’s? The Porsche seats would weight a little more (about 9kg according to the supplier).
I’m debating between the nogaro’s and those Porsche seats but I’d probably want to get the Nogaro’s in CF… for the price the Porsche seats would be a little cheaper. 4k vs 3.5k. I’ve never sat in either seat which is why I’m curious to know which is more comfortable street driving as well as how accessible the rear seats are with either of these setups.

What about the fitment do you dislike?? Btw your tune on my car is still running perfect.Originally posted by Bry5on View PostDefinitely don’t buy without sitting in them. I absolutely hate the nogaros fitment. Love the Porsche oem seats. Form fitted seats are pretty personal.
I also would not buy from a questionable source.

IIRC you have some experience with seats more so than the average user. Can you explain or elaborate on why a "knock-off" seat is bad or what its failure mode would be? I mean we expect that a cheap seat is going to have a lesser quality cover and foam, but what in its construction is worse or what is the failure mode? I would think one of the biggest concerns would be how the threaded inserts are connected/embedded into the seat shell itself. But aside from that what are the construction issues with a knock off?Originally posted by Obioban View PostSeats are a safety item. Don’t buy knock offs from china/tic tok
***I am a big fan of Racetech and Cobra for seat fitment and comfort (and that is what I have in my car), but I always see these cheap seats and other than being a "knock-off" I don't really know what is specifically bad about them.

They hunch me forward pretty aggressively and pinch my shoulders together. It’s immediately quite uncomfortable, you’d know within 30 seconds of sitting, definitely know after driving. I’m 6’3” 200lbs 44” chest if that helps.Originally posted by amiao View Post

George Hill tearing out the fasteners was the failure mode I had in mind.‘02 332iT / 6 | ‘70 Jaguar XJ6 electric conversion

Ah I gotcha, I definitely need to see what they’re like. I’m 5’10 180lbs. I’ve sat in pole positions before and I didn’t find them great for driving for extended periods. Also didn’t like the seat belt clip placement. Recaro Sportsers felt decent but I wanted to get something lighter.Originally posted by Bry5on View Post

I noticed this right away as well but got used to it after a long drive. I think it’s worse for those with a more broader/muscular build.Originally posted by Bry5on View Post
