Indeed, though I do think I'm close to a good place where the exhaust is present and throaty, but doesn't overpower the induction. Maybe cats or resonators in my sect 1 would put me right there. I have, and still do, contemplate going back to stock (or ss street or rdsport) because, as you say, nothing beats the induction.

Is obvious that... If you increase the pipe diameter the sound will be damped.

Sorry if I am missing it. I remember I read on the old forum that you need different type of bolts to assemble entire SS exhaust V1+oversized sec1+twin section 2+ street muffler. Are those part #s from the top posts correct parts needed?

You only need them if you have a catted sec 1. The V1 straight pipe section 1 will mount with standard hardware but you can still opt to do what Ian did by using the header > section 1 bolts.

Is there any exhaust clips with of 2.5" section 2? Most of what is heard in the OPs videos is induction noise from carbon box.

x2! I’d love to hear these paired with a louder exhaust.

As some have requested, here's a clip of the 2.5" twin resonated section 2.
Other components are: SSV1, SS catless section 1 and SS gen.2 sport muffler.

                    364whp/260wtq limited by 91 octane.
We need better quality gas in Canada

What is your option of the sound and is there any drone? What other setups have you had? The exhaust seems to be quiet, I can even hear the induction noise over it.

Debating between the resonated and non-resonated version of this, not sure if the resonator makes it quieter or if it just eliminates drone. Suggestions welcome.

My current setup is: SSV1 - SS Catted Section 1 - OEM Section 2 - SS Sport Muffler

One more question for the 63.5mm section 2 guys. I am specing out the SS exhaust on ECS, the SSV1s are offered as 63.5mm, section 2 is 63.5mm but catless section 1 is only offered as 63.5mm-60mm(it goes from 63.5mm to 60mm). Is there a part number for catless 63.5mm section 1 that doesn't narrow down?

The resonators eliminate rasp— not drone. Drone is determined by the muffler.

They don't make a set of Sec 1 pipes that are 2.5" all the way through. I'm in the same boat and I might have a Ti Sec 1 with resonators made in 2.5".

Not sure why you guys think SS v1 sect 1 (catted or not) isn't full 2.5".

Catted V1 S pipes and non catted pipes are exact same; one has cats welded in, one doesn't. That's the only difference - the decat even comes with bungs, literally the same pipes. Just because it mates to a 60mm sect 2 doesn't mean it ends as 60mm. The triangle flanges allow a small range of diameters to mate together.

If you didn't know, the header to sect 1 flanges also allow a range of diameters to mate. You can install the 2.5" manzo sect 1 to 2.16" stock headers. Going from 2.5 to 2.37" is nothing.

Even if the SS v1 pipes did taper down to 60mm (2.37") for a few inches, you wouldn't see that on a dyno.
