The PS4Ss are a street tire. I would not suggest anyone run them on the track-- any more than I'd suggest anyone run NT-01s on the street (my track tire) or Pilot Alpines (my snow tire) in the summer.

I got my NT-01s for $100 per tire, new, and they will also out perform my PS4Ss on track. They're still a garbage street tire.
What makes nt-01 garbage on the street? I’m guessing strictly going by treadwear?

I don’t care at all for any nvh or perceived loss of ‘ride quality’ by running 200tw tires on the street. My car is my daily driver and I can run them all year long with no issues but then again I’m in SoCal. It’s okay to have different preferences from others

      Of course not

Noise (far and away this more than anything else)
          harshness
cold weather performance (by which I don't mean snow-- just 40 something degree mornings, like I was dealing with on them last weekend at the track)
          wet weather performance
          hydroplaning resistance
useful life measured in heat cycles instead of wear
          total life span
gradual breakaway characteristics at the limit

It's okay to have different preferences than others. It's not okay to mislead others into a tire that isn't good for their situation. A tire that is good at one thing (limit grip) at the expense of everything else is a bad street tire for most people. For a street tire, I'd say high grip and sudden breakaway characteristics are actually very bad. The fun of driving fast is driving near the limit, whatever speed that limit may be (see: miata). Having a tire with really high limits and a sudden breakaway generally means you can't actually drive your car at the limit-- making it less fun. Presumably you're not racing on the street, so I'm not sure what you're gaining in exchange by going for high limits at the expense of everything else.

What makes the PS4Ss so great as a street tire is that they're reasonably quiet, feelsome without being harsh, grippy enough, amazing wet performance, good at not hydroplaning, last a long time, still work on a chilly morning, don't heat cycle out, and gradually/predictably break away at the limit. No individual characteristic is best in class, but as a package there's no competition.... which happens to be very analogous to the M3.

I don’t think OP will encounter much of the environmental conditions you seem to deal with. If I was in your situation I definitely wouldn’t be running my current tires.

It doesn't rain in Hawaii? Tires don't make noise in Hawaii?

Of everything I wrong, the only part that doesn't apply to him in Hawaii is cold mornings.

Well, at least that's progress from your previous statement of, "He’s just trying to let it be known he paid so much for a set of tires and anything else less expensive can’t possibly be any good."

I don’t know if there was something wrong with the V12s that came on my car or what based on the comments here, but they were the harshest tire I have ever used by far. I bought ZCPs with MPSS on them and even at 19” vs the V12 on Apex 18s, the ride quality improvement was night and day. I still want to replace the KW V2 that also came on the car but the wheel and tire swap made the situation much less dire.

Nothing wrong with them in some cases, they’re just a terrible tire for this platform. I put a set on my wife’s Audi wagon as well, also terrible to drive. I have never been dissatisfied with any Michelin tire, ever. You don’t always get what you paid for in this life, but in this case, you do.
