    2001 BMW E46 M3
    For sale by owner is this amazing example of an E46 M3. I have owned the car since Oct, 2017, and have taken it through a no-expense-spared OEM+/CSL-style build – detail-oriented perfection and likely one of the best driving and most developed E46 M3’s the market has seen.

    Details

    -2001 BMW M3
    -VIN WBSBL93311JR12076
    -Coupe, 6-speed manual (original)
    -Titanium Silver, Black Interior w/ Titanium Silver trim.
    -Local Vancouver BC car.
    -Clean title, owned outright.
    -155,2XXkm (car is stored, and will be driven occasionally to keep it fresh)
    -Extensive amount of preventative maintenance/performance parts – all receipt/records available. The car has been professionally built and maintained.
    - “Big 3” (Subframe, Rod Bearings, VANOS) maintenance items completed/locked down.
    - Freshly built/blueprinted S54 engine – 350whp/260wtq dyno-tuned by HTE Performance.
    - 9.5/10 condition exterior/interior. The car is absolutely mint, with only the most minor of road- wear visible. Zero rust/corrosion, or dents/dings of any kind on the exterior. Interior is flawless.

    I will try to organize the car by components below, highlighting the work and development that has gone into each part. All details below have been completed since my purchase of the car in Oct 2017, at 141,300km.

    Exterior

    o Original sunroof was deleted and replaced by CSL carbon roof using factory installation standards/materials
    o 1x1 weave
    o OEM CSL roof rails, piano black
    o New OEM windshield, front/rear gaskets
    o OEM roof bow
    o OEM roof insulation

    - OEM CSL Trunk
    o OEM CSL liner
    o OEM hardware/rivets
    - OEM LED tail lights
    o LCI update, LCM and dash properly coded

    Clearly inspired by the gorgeous CSL, these are the 4 exterior pieces that make the CSL such a unique E46. Fitment of all pieces is spot on – of particular note the Miles End bumper, which is NLA and noted for its perfect fitment.

    Interior

    - Recaro Pole Position ABE seats – Driver + Passenger
    o Black Leather
    o Recaro Aluminum mounting brackets
    o Recaro sliders
    o ABE seats allow the easy use of the stock 3-point seatbelts, as they are slightly wider
    at the hips.

    - OEM Euro Center Console, Armrest Delete
    - OEM Radio Delete Plate (BMW Business single-din unit included)

    o AKG red poly transmission mounts
    - Turner Motorsport Aluminum Pedal Set

    The car went through a thorough “Clubsport” type of treatment. Anything that could be reduced or eliminated was – resulting in a very clean and purposeful driver’s interior.

    Intake

    - Karbonius CSL Intake Plenum (airbox)
    o Carbon w/ OEM composite intake runners
    o Karbonius Carbon Snorkel
    o OEM CSL intake ducting (connection to bumper intake port)
    o OEM CSL air filter
    o Kassel Performance MAP sensor conversion kit
    o All new OEM intake boots/hardware
    - Radium Catch Can w/ petcock

    Noted for being the best sounding induction on this side of a McLaren F1 (quoting some journalist here), the CSL airbox is THE defining visceral aspect of the car. Nothing on the road sounds like it at full-throttle, with a healthy performance bump as well. Super addictive.

    Engine

    - Engine was professionally rebuilt/blueprinted at +/-153,000km, using OEM or OEM+ parts.
    - Nearly every possible engine component and associated system was overhauled or replaced.
    - Tuned in summer 2023 by HTE Performance (Hassan Eido) – 350whp/260wtq, 8400rpm limiter.
    - Zero track miles since rebuild.
    - MSS54HP ECU
    - 280/272 12.5mm Cat Cams
    - CP-Carrillo Forged Pistons, 87.50mm bore, 11.5:1 compression
    - King Rod Bearings, Race, Black
    - Rogue Engineering Clutch Kit, Organic, Single Mass Flywheel
    - Beisan VANOS rebuild kit
    - OEM Engine/Transmission Mounts
    - OEM plugs/coils
    - ARP Connecting Rod bolts
    - OEM hardware/gaskets/tensioners throughout
    - OEM Alternator
    - OEM Fuel Pump

    Rebuilt to compliment the extensive performance modifications on the car, you will also note the urgent character of the cammed engine. Definitely “spicy”, everything is locked down tight and ready for many km’s of enjoyment.

    Exhaust

    - Supersprint Stepped Headers, V1 (044001)
    - Supersprint Stepped Section 1 Straight Pipe (044012)
    - Supersprint Resonated Center Twin Pipe Section 2 (044003)
    - Supersprint Performance Muffler, Gen 2 (043926)

    This is the holy-grail Supersprint setup for the E46 M3. All of the newly-designed oversized 63.5mm pieces. Exhaust is subtle down low and opens up to an insane tone up high. Doesn’t overpower the induction sound of the CSL intake, and is a lot deeper and more resonant than the typical tinny/buzzy E46 M3 muffler sounds. New sensors/gaskets and hardware throughout.

    Chassis (RACP)

    - Turner Motorsport Subframe reinforcement kit
    - OEM subframe bushings throughout
    - Additional inspection and thorough seam-welding of the entire RACP area of the car.

    Anybody familiar with the E46 M3 will also be aware of the weak sheet metal at the rear subframe mounting points, and the fact that even reinforcing with plates can see failure. The car has seen a plated solution as well as further inspection/seam welding of the mounting areas to ensure a bulletproof future.

    Suspension

    - AST 5200 Suspension
    o 2-way adjustable (rebound + compression), true rear coilovers
    o External canisters
    o Integrated front camber plates
    - Hotchkis Front + Rear Performance Swap Bar Kit
    - Hotchkis Front Adjustable Performance End Links
    - AKG Rear Camber Arms, adjustable
    - AKG FCAB, RTAB, 75D red poly
    - OEM .712 Yellow Tag steering rack
    - Recent alignment

    The car is absolutely dialed with this setup. Relatively neutral in handing, and very planted. Nearly telepathic-like responses to throttle steering, and has never snapped or reacted dangerously.

    Brakes

    - OEM CSL Cross-drilled Rotors
    - Porsche Brembo 4-piston calipers Front + Rear
    o F 996.351.425/26

    o Powder coated Speed Yellow
    o Rally Road Mounting Brackets + stainless lines

    Great pedal modulation and more than enough power to keep the car in check. Tons of pad and parts availability due to these being OEM Porsche 996/Boxster S brakes.

    Wheels

    - Fikse Profil 10
    o Gold Anodized w/ Polished Lips
    o 18” x 9” front, 10” rear, ET+25
    o Yokohama A052 Tires, 245/40 front, 275/35 rear (plenty of meat left)
    - Apex 90mm stud conversion kit

    A personal favorite (while being a little different than the typical BBS) – these are super lightweight and look amazing. Fitment is perfect, with zero rubbing even given the low ride height. Rear of spokes are scalloped for further weight savings, with some of the best street-able track tires on the market.

    This car was built to try to accentuate what makes the E46 M3 great. Reliable enough to daily, clean enough to show, and an absolute track weapon that will hassle anything on this side of 500hp.

    As a seller, I hope that this car finds an enthusiastic and loving new home.
