    Door molding clips

Does anyone know which clip is used in molding number 3 in this realoem diagram? I'm unsure if I should purchase #5 or #6. Thank you!

    Judging by this :

Agreed it's #5. I can confirm because I ordered #6 and found out the hard way

Anyone know if you can buy just the yellowish rubber grommets that go over the clips? My clips are fine, but a couple of the grommets are deteriorating/ripped.

Edit: Maybe 51131960127? Although RealOEM doesn't list it as fitting the M3. Plus they're like 10 cents less than the whole thing, so probably worth to just buy the clip.

You can buy them. But over all cheaper to buy the whole thing. The ones from FCP came with the grommets.

I too am looking to replace all the door clips but also could not verify the part numbers and quantities. If you could share that I would appreciate it. Thanks…

On my E46 M3 and E46 Coupe it took 51138250585.
To clarify these are for the outside door "rub strips", not the inside door panel. I can't recall exactly how many per door but it's like 5-6. But surprised if you'd have broken them all taking off the trim.

What I intend to do is remove all the exterior door mouldings and then clay bar, polish, and wax the car. The I will reinstall them. There is a bunch of old built up wax in the mounding grooves I want to remove, hence my reason for removing them and then addressing the paint. Realoem doesn’t quantify the quantity and part numbers, and I ever reached out to FCP but they couldn’t confirm either. So any help is appreciated. Thanks…

You need 9 clips (confirmed with passenger door) since I recently took my moulding off and will be replacing them. Indeed, underneath is a bunch of buildup and dirt deposits.

As oldFanatic mentioned, it is part number 51138250585.

My plastic clips broke off during removal, but the yellowish rubber grommets were fine. If my new clips come with the rubber, you can have my old ones.

Thanks! I have some clips on the way already, but really appreciate the offer
