    BC coils camber adj. help

The previous owner installed a set of BC coilovers and one side has significantly more camber set than the other for some strange reason.
I would like to correct this but the top mounts have 4 allen head bolts for camber adjustments and only 2 of the 4 bolts are accessible with the offset style top mounts.
Would it be a matter of removing the 3 nuts on the top side and then dropping the shock down a bit to gain access? I don't like how these are set up with camber plates yet they are not adjustable without taking things apart.

The previous owner must have installed them wrong. All the bolts should be easily accessible. You’ll have to remove the coilovers and rotate it so that you can see all 4 bolts on the top.

Previous owner screwed you up lol. You should be able to drop just the top and spin it the correct way though. Make sure to tell the PO he's a dummy.

Thanks guys, GD the guy that installed these...
I found this interesting on m3cutters:

Guy had the same issue as me and a few people said thats how it should be (bolts not all accessible), so now I'm even more confused.

Yeahhhh no. Don’t believe everything you read without doing more research. If the camber bolts were meant to be hidden then it would defeat the whole purpose of being able to adjust them.

I hear you. I couldn't imagine why in the the hell they would do that so you couldn't get at the bolts.
Do you suppose the PO simply has the two front plates swapped? I will try simply spinning them around first.

No, he probably read that same forum and thought that it was the right position. Or he just installed them all willynilly.

One problem is the camber plates are fixed in position with the 3 studs that go up through the tower so I don't know how I will simply spin them around. Maybe I've got this all wrong but I'll check it out again and take some pics.

What I meant to say was that you actually have to physically remove the coilovers to rotate the top to the proper position where you can see all 4 camber bolts. Sorry if I wasn’t clear.

I understand I have to remove the coils on the topside. I did this today and managed to get enough access to set the camber equally on both sides. But during that process with things apart I didn't see how I could spin the camber plates. They seem to only go in one way.

These are the "off center" top mounts I have, what is the reason one would want these? I want to say that these are the reason I cannot access the 4 bolts.

Offset camber plates offer more camber than standard camber plates, about 1 degree more I believe. Could be that PO got them for track purposes or stance.

I have the same BC coilovers with the offset camber plates. They are installed correctly, there is no option to install them in a wrong way. If you rotate it, the plate will be in a different direction and you will not be able to adjust the camber. Unfortunately, they are a nightmare to be adjusted. My initial intention was to lower the strut when I bring the car to the alignment machine and to adjust the camber on it. But I've installed the reinforcement plates and they drop over the bolts so it's almost impossible to adjust them without removing the whole assembly. That's why I'm considering to buy a new camber/caster adjustment plates. The oem plates are offset too and that's why I've bought the BC with the offset plates. I think that if you buy a coilovers with a center plates that don't have a caster alignment you won't be able to adjust the caster into specs.

I did just what you described yesterday and it was a total pain in the ass. I too have the OE reinforcement plates that sit between the camber plate and the strut tower so even when the whole thing is dropped the plates are in the way of making adjustments. I still managed to do it, barely. This would make taking the car to an alignment shop a nightmare for them and more expensive for me.
I am thinking about buying BC's standard camber plates but these would likely change the ride height as the coilover would be in a more vertical position as opposed to the offset postion it is currently in.
I would love to buy plates that allow for camber/caster, I will check out what BC has to offer I am very new to suspension related things, this is my first time messing with anything suspension related on my car. I just wish the PO would have installed some Bilsteins instead, no idea why he didn't do that, hmmm.

That's one interesting video about the issues with the standard camber plates.
