    Fuel injector o-ring

Recently had my injectors cleaned. He didn't have the correct size o-ring for the bottom part of the injector.

13647830611 is the part number im looking for.

They are just under $20/piece everywhere! Yeah seriously!

I see these guys sell the victor reinz alternative for significantly cheaper. Anybody had good luck with these or know if its ok? I'm pretty sure its ok but it would be a shame if they leaked.

Thats what I thought. I'll give it a try.

I know you were on the old forum as well. Did you remember anything on timing chain brands? I see iwis is pretty popular and FCP even lists it as the OE. Any opinions?

FCP is usually right when it comes to labelling things as OE or OEM or whatever.

However, the price difference between the genuine timing chain and the OE one is like 40 bucks. Personally, I think the peace of mind that comes from knowing that I got a genuine timing chain (which is quite an important component of the engine) is worth the $40.

Is your timing chain showing wear? Not a common thing to replace unless you're doing a full rebuild.

That was my thinking. I am doing a full rebuild and I wasn’t originally going to replace the timing and oil pump chain because they don’t need to be replaced. And it’s not like any slack in the chain will make a difference because of the way the VANOS works. And no, to the best of my knowledge the chain isn’t showing much wear but I can’t really compare it until I have the new one in hand.

But then I thought what is $150 when doing an engine rebuild. I’m just gonna get the BMW brand stuff and sleep well at night.

Not a bad idea. I don't remember who was the brand but if the difference is $40, Genuine BMW on this part is a no brainer. It is not really the stretch/slack you need to worry about either but just the possibility of it failing.

Exactly. And iwis is the brand in question. I don’t doubt their quality as they make over 30 million chain pets per DAY and they’ve been in business for over a century. But for something like this I’ll spend an extra few bucks for peace of mine on OEM fitment
