    Rear speaker enclosure

I read on thr m3f, that they had rear spraker enclosure. Maybe jbl, its hold a 8 inch sub. It mounts to the rear deck, for each speaker. Do anyone have these installed or know a speaker upgrade for them, and a DIY on the install.

Maybe referring to the Harman Kardon subwoofer mounted under the rear deck? Might be some after market solutions that use the mountings.

I put some cdt ES-0690GOLD 6X9 free air subwoofers in there several years ago. They don't vibrate the whole block but they sound nice in the car. The setups looks like stock as well.

JL stealthbox? You can see it in my avatar top left. Good luck finding one, been out of production for a long time. You can fit most new JL 8inch sub to it.

I heard good things about the CDT option but I went the kicker freeair route. Tough to find but I couldn't be happier with the quality.

Its is a pain in the a$$ if you do not remove the rear deck. The space to fit wrenches/hands will be tight It. Could use a second set of hands to hold while you bolt. It bolts right up to an original mounting point and two hole in the chasis (No drilling required). Three bolts in total. Currently I have a JL Audio 8W3v3-4 8" 4-ohm in it. Sounds great.

You have the speakers powered off of another amp?

+1 on the second set of hands. I don't know that I could have got them in without my son's help. Here is the driver's side:

Yes I have removed all stock audio parts (Besides front speakers, deleted Nav, BM53, HK amp, HK Sub, Bluetooth module, and rear fill speakers). Front HK components and JL sub powered off JL amp and Avin 4 headunit.

So I see the stealth box. But please elaborate on the head unit setup. What’s In the dash? Pics? How’s it controlled?

iPad mini in the dash connected to "head unit" in the trunk with a USB cable. A PAC ControlPro 5 programmable SWC interface mounted just above the head unit allows control via steering wheel audio controls. For calls my cell phone connects to the head unit via blue tooth and I mounted a hands free mic with a long cable up in the stock location.

The rear tray speakers were replaced by the stealth boxes. I pulled the HK subs and mounted an AudioControl D-4.800 amplifier to the bottom of the rear tray. I pulled all six front door speakers and replaced them with 6.5" Alpine Type R separates. The tweeters went right into the stock location, but the woofers required surgery to the doors and the door panels. It all looks stock with the door panels installed.

^^^ really nice setup... so far I’ve been committed to the stock look in dash... on my second Dynavin... but if that doesn’t work, my installer is in favor of an iPad mini in the dash... everything else is aftermarket (BavSound speakers and Hertz amps)... I’ve used the StealthBoxes in other applications... buy them whenever you can, is my advice.
