Any recommendations for setting up a cell phone? I found the Rennline exactfit mount and it seems pretty good. If I use that, is there anywhere other than the cigarette lighter to draw power from -- a way I can direct wire a power source? I have an old aux cable on my passenger side that I probably had installed 15+ yrs ago for an FM modulator -- not sure where that is coming from but I assume there must be a way to get a power source. Would appreciate any other ideas.

I have the proclip mount with the wireless charging base. I get power off the cigarette lighter.
This ProClip Vehicle Angled Mount is a custom made car specific mount. It provides the perfect mounting platform for your device holder so you don't have to fumble around for your device anymore. The ProClip Angled Mount is a very sturdy mounting bracket that clips tightly into the seams of the dashboard. No drilling h

I have something identical to this except it has 2 "prongs" that mount onto the vent, not just one. It's a bit annoying at times because sometimes the mount comes a bit loose when you take your phone off it, so it has to be pushed back in. But it's stable enough for navigating on the streets or using it for music

Not as elegant as the flush install options into the trim, but a RAM mount suctioned to my windshield has been solid and reliable for years. Plus it has a lifetime warranty through which I was able to replace the suction cup when it wore out after years of LA heat. What I like about this type of setup is that when I'm using my phone for nav I don't need to look down to see my phone, it's basically in my line of vision, the downside being that it doesn't look nearly as clean. It does seem like they've raised their prices a bit since I bought it 5 years ago.
For charging, I just run a cable off of the second USB port on this bluetooth unit, which I have running through an aux into the back of the business radio for music. If you already have an aux sticking out then a previous owner probably already installed the BMW aux kit.
Someday I'd like to upgrade to one of the double din touchscreen units, but to be honest having my navigation within my line of sight is really nice and lets me maintain focus on the road.'04 LSB Coupe 6MT
All my money goes towards maintenance.

As a follow-up, I got the Rennline but realized that I need to attach a giant sticker to my phone to make it have the magnetic force to stick to the mount. So that was a no-go. I was preferring it to the proclip because it was less bulky.
How bulky/obstructive is the Proclip and how easy is the install (any drilling?)?
Appreciate any other recommendations that don't require any phone stickers/mods.
