I just found this forum and was a member of the old one. Never knew what happened to the old one, but my vote is YES. Bring back as many DIY threads, please and thank you..

Definitely looking forward to this! Especially the build threads. Was sad to see all of my old posts and others' posts gone. I can't remember which username I had now. I think it was "Treflip" with the same avatar?

I think prices have gone up ever since FB groups have become a thing. These morons hype up some ratmobile, price it like a clean car, then some moron buys it. Seeing $20k convertible SMG turds change hands often is baffling.

I think we need to keep the M3F restoration secret because we'll get all of those morons in here.

    MOAR DESPAIR!!! lol

You think that's bad? $1000 E30's in the mid 2000's are now $4k cars. That means those ratmobile e46's should be like $40k. Could be a lot worse haha. Maybe we just haven't got there yet.

We're bringing back the classifieds content. Even if they're not that fun, sometimes something useful comes out of it-- car history, reference photos, amusement and despair over how cheap things used to be...

This is amazing - lots of LOLs and garbage on M3F, but also tons of write ups and value there. I totally forgot about FOT, what a place.

Anyways, looking forward to going through everything, losing my old journal was always a bit sad.

Jared posted a thread in the main E46 discussion section about making his own ZHP knob. And he used a butter knife to whittle a ZHP knob with "texture" and posted pics of it.

It was a goldmine but also the worst of times.

Things were much simpler back then sigh.

And before you say he would talk that way in real life, you and I both know that greatly depends on who it is standing in front of them.

    Class keyboard hard ass.

Agreed. Eilenberg was another one of "those" guys 😅
But oddly enough I do talk the way online as I do when I'm facing someone. I didn't realize there were so many people that were the opposite, but it makes sense since that's when all the division in politics came about - when everyone started posting about it hiding behind their keyboards 15 or so years ago.

Anyone who wants their old posts linked to their current nam3forum account can PM me personally. I wrote a little script to fix posts after the fact, and I can do it on a one-by-one basis.
A monumental task in it's own right. It's amazing you were able to save all of that info. Well I PM'd for approval of linking my handle to old posts. I'm proud of my heritage on M3Forum and in the community in general; it's why I even have it listed in my signature. I was almost a 20 year member there before it went down. I signed up only a couple of weeks after my M3 was delivered at Northwest BMW up in Baltimore.
