    19” OE wheel refinish

The clear is flaking on part of my wheel. Can I take this to any wheel repair place or is there a special finish process like the OE shadow chrome? Is there anything I need to explain to them first or is any competent shop able to handle?

My other option is to ditch the 19’s for a new set of OE 18’s as they are ~900 for the set new.

    TIA

Has anyone tried to order the 18s lately? The current pricing looks like a mistake to me, those were 600-700/ea. a decade ago (via realOEM) and most/all BMW prices have only increased.

One other option you might consider is a set of the OEM ZCPs, they are $1900 and still cheaper than a new set of the style 67 19s.

Those prices are insanely cheap, especially compared to the ZCP wheels. I hope they're not trying to clear inventory leading to them becoming NLA.

Yeah, I saw that but think all vendors get the price from BMW corporate then apply their retail markup and then whatever discount from retail.

I'm guessing it's a price error at the source.

I'm going to order a set and find out.

Oh wow I'm tempted to order a set of square 18s just because they're so cheap.

Thinking the same thing but I didn’t realize they are nearly the weight of the 19’s. BTW, did I read correct, the Pilot 4S 18” tires are heavier than the 19” in stock sizes?

Damn, I'd love to get some 18" Style 67's for my wagon! Can't believe how cheap that is.

Can't you just strip the clear, polish, shoot with new clear? I think they look nice just bare aluminum, IF you're willing to keep them polished.

Well, yeah... the 18" tires have more rubber.

Tischer had the best price (complete set of 4, staggered, $909 + tax, free shipping). My order is shipped and I should have it by the end of the week. We'll see, but so far so good.

I don't think the factory 19's used the shadow chrome. My local shop asked that initially and upon inspection/refinish, said these didn't have it. I was very happy with the results and it was a no-brainer for me. $900 total for all 4

Very Nice refinish. Where did you get them done?

Yep, if the profiles (middle number e.g. "35") are such that both tires would give the same circumference/diameter, then the 19 will have less rubber.

I love all of our stock wheels (18, 19, 19 cs/csl), but damn the weights and offsets are doodoo.
