Xtrons Head Unit: Can you disable reverse

Has anyone had success disabling where it switches the screen when you go into reverse?
I was able to find the setting so it at least doesn't mess with the volume when you go into reverse.

It should be in the factory settings, 0000 is the code to enter factory settings. The translation is not great, so it might not be labeled exactly as "disable reverse cam."

I'm not sure if that feature works. Set based on time of day seems to be the best way to dim the screen.

Those settings are different from the 8.8" XTRONS headunit. On the 8.8", I believe the reverse camera setting is called "backcar" in the factory settings.

Yeah, it seems like the best option in terms of looks and functionality. You really only use the two knobs and the touchscreen since it boots straight into Carplay. It has the essential buttons for when you want to switch back to menus and Android.

karter16 also made a sweet looking factory boot logo, and if you go one step further and apply a matte screen protector under the bezel, it basically looks like a factory headunit. Credit to karter16 for sharing his install.

Check post 112 and 265 in his build journal - https://nam3forum.com/forums/forum/m...e46-m3-journal
