    Passenger Airbag disable

googling has lead me down a path of many people guessing, assuming, not knowing, or frowning upon doing it. i want to understand the rules on how the passenger side airbag functions or how it can be disabled.
i've read that the occupancy sensor will dictate if the airbag is enabled or disabled. (true or false?)
i've also read that if the occupancy sensor is faulty (e.g. removed) then the airbag is just enabled (true or false?)

i have a bucket seats on both the drive and passenger side. i didn't transfer over the occupancy sensor so not plugged...i also have disabled (through ncs expert or pa soft) all airbag lights.
do i need to unplug the airbag for it to be disabled? have i already disabled it when i disabled the airbag lights? not sure if the airbag lights disabled just disabled lights or if it disabled functionality of the system which in turn just turned the lights off.

ultimate goal is to be able to take my daughter on a cruise (e.g. C&C) every once in awhile by putting her in a booster seat on the passenger side but want to be sure the airbag is properly disabled.

Dedicated track car here. I took out the airbag control unit when I removed all airbags an no more light. Not sure if that is the extent you want to go. I had trouble removing the light before that as well. I was told (but never tried) that you have to disable or trick out the seatbelt tensioner too.

We removed drivers airbag, airbag module, and both tensioners. No airbag light. You need to ground the connector on the airbag module wiring harness.

Still need to remove passenger airbag, haven't gotten to it yet.

i mean if i have to remove it, then i'll do it...but if it's just as simple to change a checkbox in ncsexpert to not energize the airbig module, then that should do it.
is there a diy on how to remove the pass side airbag? the little that i've read is to pull the trim, pull the vent, and then i didn't see how they finished.

found this online and this is where i'm curious. this part of pasoft is what we refer to as "disabling airbag lights"...but it looks to disable the functionality (ie disabling power going to those circuits) which in turn shuts off the lights, or at least thats how i'm theorizing it. disabling the circuit would mean that part of the system simply wont' work, which means my airbag is ALREADY disabled. thoughts?
