I really thought OEM CSL was carbon fiber. That's a bit disappointing considering the price. This is my Unbuild Journal and why we need an oil thread

Even though I may not be ready to use it for a while, sounds like I need to jump on a CSL boot and just keep it around. I'm sure the wife will love that.
Are there any boots worth a shit other than OE? Kind of surprised Karbonius doesn't make one. I'd think they'd sell more of those than roofs?

Charging someone $600 more dollars for something ordered 5 months ago is a garbage thing to do. That's so screwed up and is not worth doing business with someone like that. You paid for a product that they made you wait for but surprise! The market went up so pay more before your product gets shipped. This is unethical. This is my Unbuild Journal and why we need an oil thread

I'm glad BMW isn't the only source we can get parts. Even Mr OEM is best is not running one 😂This is my Unbuild Journal and why we need an oil thread

Pretty soon the world will be all socialist so no one will be able to afford one anyways. Gotta look at the bright side of things.

I can't fault BMW for eventually raising the price (they should absolutely honor Schmiedmann's pending order). They control production of the only OE Bootlid and there's clearly a huge inelastic demand for Genuine CSL parts.
Schmiedmann choosing to not honor customer purchases made months ago is unethical bullshit. They need to just eat the loss. I have an OE CSL bootlid order pending with ECS and was going to buy the accessories (CSL trim, wiring harnesses, license plate lights) from Schmiedmann. I just cancelled that and don't really see myself doing business with them in the future.Last edited by su45; 10-17-2020, 08:50 AM.2002 M3 Coupe 6MT
