    Water Ingress in Headlights?

Was noticing that my headlight was a little cracked, but I decided not to replace it. Fast forward to today, I lifted the hood (there was water on the hood after the rain) and it splashed onto the air scoop. Driver side headlight stopped working shortly thereafter. First I swapped the bulbs, no go. I removed the headlight and swapped it with the passenger one, that works. Fortunately it's not the wiring. I replaced the ballasts on the headlights to check that and as I was flipping over the headlight, there was a decent amount of the aforementioned water in the lens. I opened the lens and am letting it dry out. I think the the headlight likely will be toast. Any experience with this?

If you found decent amount of water inside the lense then it could be the unit is toast. Getting a used unit might be a quick cheap alternative. Or someone with more electrical/wiring expertise can chime in to fix

Could be the Igniter. That was the issue I was having. Ordered a used one from eBay and I’ve been running bright ever since.

When I bought my M3 in 2014, it still had garbage angel eyes installed and the wiring created a very small but significant cut/tear in the headlamp lens gasket. I had constant condensation issues in my driver side headlamp to the point where the bulb would sometimes flicker or go out. I replaced the gaskets, lenses, and top trim on both sides this past spring via FCP. Aside from an aesthetic refresh for the lenses, I’ve had no issues since.
