I am stuck with DOOR AJAR warning

All of sudden, my driver side door sensor decided to give up and now throwing DOOR AJAR warning all the time.
    .
The problem is my car has an SMG and would not shift into a gear since the car thinks the door is opened.

Is there a way to get around or disable this sensor so I can at least move the car? (maybe disconnect fuse?)

    Please help!!

Were you able to figure out a work around to this issue? I'm experiencing the same issue and hoping that maybe pulling a fuse will work for now.

Along with several other signals that the SMG unit require to get a START ENABLE or GEAR CHANGE, there is a "HALL EFFECT" DOOR position sensor integrated in the door latch which sends the signal to the GM (General Module). This data is transferred via the K-Bus and CAN Bus for safety program initiation. This sensor is likely faulty.

Thanks for your response Pnick. I wasnt sure if this was a door latch sensor issue or GM5 issue. Based off of your response it sounds like a door latch sensor issue. I don't know if this makes any difference but im able to move my car but the SMG gear position number on the dash flashes the whole time.

Check the sensor on the door latch. I had the same issue while I was in motion on mine but it was the hood that came slightly open (the hood switches weren't actuated for that) and I was still able to change gears but it continued to flash until I stopped and closed the hood all the way. Then, all was good. I highly suspect it's the door latch sensor.

Very good... I will check the latch. I'm leaning that way as well. Thank you
