The ones being made now are different. The M3 logo is like a 1-piece patch and they aren’t as thick.

Correct. I believe the updated version is more durable. The velcro tabs are less likely to rip off. Not as plush and soft as the originals but these are floormats.

Plus the backing isn't that material that falls apart over time. That's a nice improvement in my opinion.

the purple is better because that's the original M color. I don't know why they changed it.

The mats now looks like an aftermarket copy as the logo is similar to an iron on patch compared the original embroidered logo.

Not the biggest deal in the world, but still a disappointment, especially when your like me and panic bought 2 sets only to find out they are the new shite style.

Aren't there enough M/M3 badges on the car . I'd go for plain jane E46 mats. No need to worry about logo design and those who know, know.

38 page floormat thread needs a bump.

I was able to find some used ones, they are far from perfect but cheaper and have the purple stripe. I saw the thread showing the quality of the new ones and I just didn't want to pay for that. So decided to just go the used route.

Of course the foam backing was completely fucked. I was able to vacuum most of it up, and used these velcro things off amazon.

Working well so far. I HATE loose floormats, so very happy to have floormats firmly mounted. The 80s BMWs did not have proper provisions for this, so I was happy to see E46 did.
If for whatever reason the velcro pads lift off the mat. I'll epoxy or glue the velcro to the mat. Rears are for the vert, so they don't cover the full area, but better than I had before.


My car was originally a rubber mat car, so I did not have the correct anchor points.
If you are missing those, can get them used from Ebay or from Amazon.

The blank ones don’t have the driver’s reinforced heel pad if that matters to you.
If just going blank can’t see any reason to buy the marked-up BMW priced blank ones over much better quality Lloyds mats.
