Sounds like you already found someone good to work with, but I'll just mention that I had a great experience using Intercity Lines when shipping mine from IL -> NY. Enclosed trailer, super professional, showed up right on time, and car was just as clean when it arrived as it was when it left.

I wish I could remember what shipping company the dealer that I bought my old M3 used. They shipped my car in the middle of the winter all the way across the US with the driver window open, it was an enclosed trailer'ish, but still, the whole interior was soaking wet. Also, the car above it leaked antifreeze all over the hood. So much for that pristine 16k mile e46m3...
