    Eventuri Intake problem

Hopefully someone smarter than me can help. I was taking apart my Eventuri Intake to clean the Filter and when I pulled it apart, a rubber band seal fell off and for the life of me I didn't see where it came from. I thought maybe it went around the Carbon Housing, where it butts up against the shield, but the photos on the Internet don't show it there and when I put it around the Filter where it slides into the Carbon housing, it gets all bunched up. I should have probably left it together, but I thought I needed to take it apart to clean it properly, Maybe it's not that important, but the Darn thing is there for a reason I thought maybe an expert on here can educate me. Thank you for any help

Gosh! I'm sorry you had the same problem, but I'm happy I'm not the only one in the world that couldn't figure it out. I'm usually pretty good at figuring things out, but this one has me puzzled. All I wanted to do was clean my Air Filter and when I'm pulling it out of that Carbon Fiber housing, Poof! I've got this Big Rubber band sitting in my Lap and I'm sitting there thinking to myself Where the Hell did that come from. There seemed like only two logical places, outside the whole Carbon housing, but the Photos don't show that or around the Lip of the Filter next to the Gasket with the Screw Holes in it where it inserts into the Housing, but with that Band on the Filter, the gap is so tight it keeps getting all crunched up trying to slide it back in the that Housing with it on and also pushes out that Gasket. . I'm like you and feel like tossing it, because it doesn't even look like it's needed, but it still Bugs the Crap out of me that I wasn't able to see where it came from when I pulled it apart. I sent an Emal to Eventuri with a photo and even they couldn't tell me where it goes. There has to be someone in the World with an E46 M3 Eventuri Intake that knows where this Band goes.

^ This. It looks like the seal for the intake elbow and not related to the CF intake.

I checked my photos right after installation, and I realized that this rubber was there from the very beginning, it's a pity I could not find a photo when I got it out of the box, I asked the master, he says that there was a rubber and he thought that it was right)

It's way too big for the Elbow and it fell out when pulling the Filter out of that Carbon Housing. The Gasket looks like enough to give a good seal and prevent any airflow other then through the Filter, but that Rubber Band came from somewhere. I guess Evolve put it in there to mess with me and it really doesn't serve any purpose.

                fair enough.

                Hard to judge size
of the gasket but just want to confirm it’s meant to be at the end of the elbow that meets the intake manifold itself, not the lower part of it.

                good luck

                  Why not call/email Eventuri?

I would not throw out, if they took the time to fit it with the product it probably was deemed necessary.
