Eventuri Intake problem

Posting here again since I just broke both seals related to my Eventuri intake. Maybe it will help someone in the future.
There are two seals - one that goes around the filter itself, which makes getting the filter a huge pain in the butt to get back into the housing. This seal ends up inside the housing.
The other seal, like others mentioned, sits directly between the CF housing and the filter. This one sits outside / "on top" of the housing between the housing and the filter.
If you plan on cleaning your intake ever - be sure to have replacements ready it appears. I'm not sure if the inside the housing one is actually all that necessary. Probably is? Dunno. Gonna find out!

Bah. I just gave up on it. Eventually got it on with some dialectric grease and was able to thread the bolt in there by pushing some of the overlap to the side. Forgoing the vanity gasket foam thing because it wont go on when the rubber ring folds over like that.
Car seems fine. Good enough for me. Never taking that apart ever again. Such a pain. Just take the MAF out and clean it attached to the housing.

I dont remember having a rubber gasket except for the vanity one. I received 2 foam gaskets that sandwiched between the layers, when i purchased a 2nd filter. The rubber vanity one just goes around filter covering the sandwiched parts.2004 M3 6MT | Eventuri Intake | 3.91 | Wavetrac

Yep. You're correct! I just heard back from eventuri. Here's what they said.Originally posted by elrichmeister View PostI dont remember having a rubber gasket except for the vanity one. "That is because the rubber band is supposed to be fitted around the outside of the filter, it is only there for aesthetics purposes.
All you need to do is put the filter back together and then when that is done simply put the bad around the outside."
So I was wrong about where to put the rubber band thing. Glad I was wrong, because it was driving me nuts trying to put it back together.
