Is there some trick to separating the Vanos solenoid connector housing? P/N 61.13.8.383.300. It’s two piece, new version has a blue center section for the 6 PIN. Asking about taking the blue center wire section from the black housing. It has two tabs on side but seems you have to pry hard to dislodge/almost breaking. BMW usually has over engineered connectors for ease so wondering how this works? Thanks

Interesting, could one expect a cracked housing to cause such errors as code 67 (Inlet VANOS, advance valve) and error code 184 (Vanos intake position control)?
I just ordered a solenoid from besian. Didn't consider the condition of the plug causing any errors‘02 LSB M3 (11k original miles)

Curious about this as I somewhat ruined my connector and also have those 2 faults, bearing in mind I still had the faults before I cracked the connector. It still seems to engage and I wonder if it’s just dirty oil combined with an old solenoid block with sticky valves that is the main culprit.

As for this causing codes it can. I have been chasing codes for over a year and had rebuilt solenoid packs tried from Beisan. Raj from Beisan told me they see the female connectors spread apart so they don’t make a good contact. Add they see some recent oxidized prongs and connectors that cause codes related to electric Vanos.

Also it might be shadows but pretty sure the new 6 PIN “blue connector” has smaller pin holes. Which “could” keep it from rocking. These are photos I took showing this between my old (black one) vs the new (blue one).
