If he would have ordered a 6-Speed he wouldn't have had these issues. Bad karma lol

WTF. What crazy is I bought that steel gray m3 with about 1500 miles on it from Bmw. I still have the car to this day and here I was thinking that I bought a clean original new e46 m3. They did not disclose the paint work to me. And if you’ve read this far, I’ve wasted enough of your time as none of my story is true.

Feel for this guy but they made it right afterwards. Hopefully the guy that lied was reprimanded.

Doubtful. I bet it was resold certified pre owned with a clean title.

Interesting what he said about the E30 M3. I've always lusted after one, but people who have owned them that I've talked to say the driving experience doesn't match up to the hype. Great cars, but more iconic than anything else.

I'm not surprised. And he's spot on about the E30 M3. Iconic, cool, but slow and basically useless nowadays.

Yeah, sort of one of those "never meet your heroes" kinda car. I had the same experience with the R32 GTR that I drove in Japan, but maybe it was because that thing was pretty beat. The engine was nice but the driving dynamics of the E46 was better

How beat was the car? I've spent a lot of time driving a stock but mint R33 and it's tight as a whistle. Felt similar to a Japanese version of a 997, crazy they sold it in the 90s.

Clutch was on its last legs and there were a few nicks and scratches on the body. It was a rental though so I imagine it wasn't treated the greatest. Those cars are getting pretty expensive too, I remember back around 2011-2012 you could pick up a nice one for $10k CAD. Prices now are through the roof

Given how people treat economy cars that they get as rentals, I can’t imagine what that R32 has seen.

R33 and R32 are completely different cars. But agree, they are not world beaters. Cool cars, though.
