    Creation Motorsport 996 Brembo Brackets

    Hey Guys,

I purchased CMS brackets a while back to do the 996 Brembo swap on my M3. I've had everything stored away and will be getting around to installing them in the upcoming weeks and need to order the pads. I had everything saved on the old forum but that's clearly useless.

I will be running the calipers with the factory 325mm rotors and wanted to confirm the make and model of the Porsche that I need to order the pads for. Was it 2006 Cayman S Front pads I need to use for the front and rear or was it 2003 Carrera pads I need to use? Lots of info on the 345mm rotor set up but I can't seem to find or remember where the info was for the 325mm set up.

If anyone can confirm, that would be great!

    Cheers.

325mm rotor setup with 996 is for E36 despite what ECS says. Everyone that tries it on E46 has issues with sweep. Rallyroad not offering it for E46 (only E36) tells you all you need to know.

For the E46, only use 345 CSL or other 345x28mm rotor. I didn't like the CM brackets too much, so I swapped for Rallyroad. Half the weight, nicer quality/hardware.

Are you certain of this? I have another buddy locally who's running the 325mm set up I mentioned with no issues. I also had the calipers machined by 12mm already.. would need to buy replacements. If this is 100% the case, I could replace it.

I've not seen one success story on E46, only issues. Report back!

Here's something to chew on: Standard rotor is 325mm, so 10mm smaller radius than 345mm. Yet, they're saying to mill a further 6.5mm off caliper mount. Unless you're telling me the adapter is 3.5mm lower/shallower. But why? Why not make it that way and then ask us to mill 2mm off caliper to fit on 345mm rotor?

Doesn't add up. At least on E36, perhaps the factory caliper mounts are already 3.5mm closer to hub than E46, so they only ask you to mill the further 6.5mm off the caliper (5.5mm -> 12mm).

My train of thought is that CM just copied RR products, then did 2 + 2 = 5 saying to put e36 brackets on e46 to sell more brackets to people who really wanted 325 or at least didn't want to pay to upgrade to csl.

I highly recommend you don’t do business with creation Motorsports, they are incompetent and uncaring.
I bought their rear caliper bracket for the Porsche conversion on my E36 and it was machined poorly, approx 5mm or more off center, I made them aware I had to have them fixed they could care less.
I bought there brake lines too, both brake lines leaked at the crimp.
I sent them a video of their leaking lines and again they could care less.
I threw out the CMS trash and ordered all new parts from RallyRoad and guess what... brackets fit properly and lines don’t leak.

Currently using the 325mm setup with CM Brackets and lines. The lines have been fine even for track duty but the pads do not get full sweep in the front. Will be swapping to the F80 front brakes sometime in the coming weeks when I have time. For the rears I am going to be switching over to rallyroad lines and brackets. Also I am less than impressed with the materials of the brackets since one of the studs did strip recently while I was doing rotors and the car has been parked since.
