I wonder if i'm not actually clicking in all the way due to how the leather is wrapped around the bottom of the 884 knob vs. ZHP. I probably need to trim some of the leather to expose more of the plastic insert?

It needs a good wack to click, but it sounds like you got it.

yeah, I was giving it some good open palmed whacks but it finally clicked when I pushed down with a little side force.

Can't wait to try it out again. I really liked the extra leverage.

Gotta hit it hard to get it on and pull really hard to get it off. Many end up uppercutting (punch) themselves upon removal so watchaté.

no joke. I’ve done it. I started putting a pillow between my face and the knob.

tried the combination of the stock unweighted knob and the Dinan SSK already on my car. Relative to the weighted broomstick it was actually a positive change for me. A little more notchy but in a good way. Could feel gates and synchros vs just blowing by them with weighted broomstick.

            ZHP knob was impossibly notchy.

Popped that thing off an on today no problem, got an aftermarket boot for 17 bucks. Yep it’s not crazy noticeable but just feels smoother, less “turbulence” I dunno how else to describe it. Thanks for all the input guys. 15 years of ownership and 7k miles, I just know feel like I’m getting to know her past couple years.
