While I agree with BMW and don't think there is a big market for a high strung coupe based on a sedan (M4/M3) and that those cars really do demand massive torque/hp there is a market for an exclusive coupe (call it the M???) with a 4 liter ITB equipped inline 6 and a curb weight around 3000lbs. An engine that size would be pushing over 500hp and it's what porsche is doing with the GT3 and no reason it can't work here (they even have ITB's on the new one, it's probably goin to make everyone forget about the aircooled whatsamacallits).
The M brand is on a collision course with the I brand and I’m afraid we all know who’s going to be winning this one.

Our dealership had a new M3 on sale for 10 minutes. It sold immediately. Yet there's a garage kept 55k 2006 Alpine White vert for sale in the back and no one has even inquired on it in weeks. It's sad because it's probably going to wholesale.This is my Unbuild Journal and why we need an oil thread

I photo documented my car from stock suspension to Bilstein B12 to koni/eibach. Two pictures of the latter set up without moving the car but changing the height of the camera could make the ride height look 1/2" different in height.
