Everything that I love about the E46 M3 is in this video. Harry has great and informative videos and I was super excited to see him review this one. What a car!!

Has the E46 CSL, with manual, usurped the E30?

          I'd say so.

Highest Specific output of any NA M car.
            Best exterior.
            Best interior.
Best in cabin sound of... well, a lot of things.
Lighter than any M3 other than the e30.
Still small enough to be fun.

Hard to argue it. The only thing the e30 really has going for it at this point is being the first M3. The SMG was the only real sticking point for the CSL.

Loved watching this. Such a spectacular car. Personally, I find the SMG enjoyable. I get why BMW did it, but a manual should have been an option. And in comparison to the F and G cars, I feel like I have no interest in any BMWs after the E9x. Makes me sad.

When it comes to the claimed weight, does anyone know if that’s for an optionless car? Or is that loaded?

Looks pretty loaded— has AC and radio, which were the big 2 weight adders.

Yes that one is. But I’m saying for a general google search listing the weight at 3,053 pounds. Curious if that’s a no AC no radio no xenon no PDC etc car.

Ah. Well, Harry weighted that one and it was ~3050
lbs, so seems like that’s the loaded weight.... though SMG adds ~30 lbs IIRC, so maybe that’s the stripper weight
