How can I mate SSv1 with CPI section 1

I bought the section 1 and the sound is great. There's no reason to ditch it when exhaust can be modified to fit each other.

How far past the original mating point do they extend?

Do they sit in different positions than regular headers or just extend out normally?

It's obvious the SSv2 is more because they know you aren't buying a section 1 from them. That annoys me so I'm out to use what I got instead of wasting $600 and losing my resonators.

The SSV1s use larger tubing (2.5"), as does the section 1 that mates with it (so you're likely giving up some of the benefit of the V1s by not using the 2.5" section 1. They mate with the section 1 further back, because the primaries are longer and the collector is ~the stock header to section 1 location. They also use a slip fit instead of a gasket/bolts.

I'd either get the V2s, which will be plug and play with your section 1, or use the SS section 1.

From when I moved from V2s to V1s (V2s in Jet Hot ceramic, V1s in swaintech white lightning):

      Merge location with the V1s:

It looks like the CPI section 1 is actually larger until after the resonators. The pipes welding onto the rear to mate with the section 2 appear small. The front is crimped down to mate with the headers. I think I might be onto something with this. If I could create a seal with rings and a round clamp, I think I could get a proper seal. Of course, I have to verify what I see is actually true OD wise. Would you say the part extending out from the ceramic coat is about 3 or 4 inches?

Why not just sell your CPI and get the correct SS sect 1 for your headers? FWIW, I just installed SS V1's and SS Sect1 this week, it's a nice setup. Good luck with what ever you decide.
