    ESS 525 kit

    Hi everyone,

Looking into potentially buying a preowned ESS 525 kit.. Apparently, this is the older version WITHOUT the front mount intercooler but has everything else included and only has about 10k miles on it.

I could get this for about $3k but I'm not familiar with these older kids, or any SC kits for our cars.

Does anyone have one of these? What's the difference btween the early gen kits and the new VT2 kit? Is it only the FMIC?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Not really super valuable info, but I’d definitely look into an intercooler setup. Heat soak is a real thing with these centrifugal kits unfortunately. My AA prima heat soaked bad

I believe the blower changed as well. There were some failures on early blowers but after some research(a long time ago), the source of S/c's was just not the best. They aren't the worst either. For $3k I'd do it. Look into servicing the blower though. Just be thorough because it'd suck to have a failure right after buying it. $3,000 isn't chump change.

                  Hey Frankie,
Do you know if it's a v2 or v3 blower? You could always do this kit and have a custom intercooler setup made like I did with my old supercharger kit. You'll want to go intercooled though bc the heatsoak is pretty bad non-intercooled.

Check the tag on the vortech blower. It should say v2 or v3 on it where it says model number.

All lag. Centrifugal superchargers make peak boost right before you shift. Roots/screw blowers make instant power

By that logic, the stock, M3 engine is laggy
