The EPA has started to crack down on emissions related modifications and are sending out massive fines to distributors and manufacturers in the US.

this is a wildly sensational claim with no evidence to back it up

you shouldn't need to resort to scaring people to get them to spend their money here

        Is this relevant?

SEMA STATEMENT ON THE STATUS OF THE RECOGNIZING THE PROTECTION OF MOTORSPORTS (RPM) ACT DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (Dec. 22, 2022) – SEMA and PRI must share that despite strong Congressional backing and extraordinary support from the racing community, the 2021-2022 Congressional session is ending without passage of the RPM Act.

If you read the OP, this guy is trying to setup a group buy so people can get Supersprint products before they become difficult to source in this country due to the RPM act.

Additionally, its smart to have the car enthusiast aware so maybe we can proactively fight this Bill.

You just had to scroll down before sending out your reply. It was in the 3rd post.

FYI, SEMA is attempting to fight this bill by having unregistered track cars not applicable under this legislation. SEMA is not fighting for any registered cars.

                        .

please get a better understanding of the RPM act since that is actually designed to help track enthusiasts keep their hobby.

nothing about the EPA that OP has mentioned could potentially threaten your ability to source Supersprint parts

the first link is a reminder from the EPA stating what we already know. it's illegal to defeat the emissions control devices on your roadgoing vehicle.

the second link is in support/defense of an almost entirely difference topic, converting a street vehicle for competition only use
a point which in your first link the EPA says is outside the scope of their document

"As a matter of enforcement discretion, the EPA’s longstanding practice has been not to take enforcement action against vehicle owners for removing or defeating the emission controls of their EPA-certified motor vehicles, so long as they can show the vehicles are used solely for competition events and no longer driven on public roads."

again, nothing has changed, nothing is changing, and probably nothing will change.
thanks for starting the Supersprint group buy. but you don't need to fear monger people into buying what you're selling. this isn't a gun forum

Again, you are misconstruing my statement.

The legislation has nothing to do with owners - it has everything to do with manufacturer, distributors, retailers and installers of emissions defeating product.

This is an enforcement notice to these companies and they have started acting, issuing a 3MM fine to a manufacturer in the industry per my discussions with Turner as of last Friday.

”While the EPA continues to take enforcement actions against automobile manufacturers for their emissions cheating, the focus of this National Compliance Initiative is on those who manufacture, sell, or install aftermarket parts known as defeat devices, which bypass or render inoperative required emissions control systems, resulting in significant increases in harmful air emissions.”
This is an entirely new development. You quite visibly didn’t read the PDF I linked. Companies could get away with “for racing use only” all these years, this is now over.

ECS & Turner are taking a very hard look at removing every and all emissions defeating products.

It’s Turner that is fearful of such fines - I am relaying their feelings.

You want to take a bet and not participate in the GB because this is just marketing?

                            Then don’t.

I promise I won’t tell you “I told you so” if Turner ever pulls all catless products from its store and I'll work with you to buy catted products at a much higher price.

As a Canadian, your gun comment doesn't resonate.

I believe this is the document/fine you’re referencing. This was from Feb 4, 2021.

Carbon monoxide is satan but explosive lithium is good.

If the oil companies were smart, they'd lobby against this but most don't see that far into the future. This is only a stepping stone to just banning cars.
