Hi all,
I replaced my factory E46 M3 Convertible's stock driver's seat with an aftermarket bucket seat and harness. OE seatbelt removed as well. I unplugged the electronics under the original driver's seat, and all that's left down there now is a black wire with a yellow connector at the end of it. I left the rest of the electronics attached to the original seat - including the seat mat, the little black module (w/ blue writing on it), and everything else connected to those. That seat is in long-term storage right now.
I've been scouring forums and youtube for days now trying to figure out how to properly code out my airbag light using NCS Expert. I am aware that a bypass module (resistors) can be plugged into the little black module as an alternative to coding - but I also have everything needed to code it out, which I know people have done before, and just feel like I'm doing it wrong. I'd like to take the coding route if possible. No matter what combination of parameters I disable, the car throws codes and the airbag light remains on.
The verdict seems to be that these two lines are the only ones that need to be coded:
ERKENNUNG_SITZBELEGUNG_1
nicht_aktiv
ERKENNUNG_SITZBELEGUNG_2
nicht_aktiv
..which I've tried without luck. INPA throws code "OC3" now, and if I try other combinations, it throws codes for the seat back latch locking.
I believe my issue might be related to the fact I'm missing that black module under the seat, where it is required to properly code it out. Does anyone know if the black module is required to be plugged in to code the airbag light/occupancy sensor out? The black piece is pictured below (ignore the red circle):
There's plenty of "here's what to code" topics on forums (i.e. https://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/threa....190871/page-2), but none seem to be working for me.. which is why I'm starting to believe I need to plug in that module.
