    Seat Sensor (Aftermarket Seat)

    Hi,

I want to replace both my driver and passenger oem electric seats out of my 2003 E46 M3 with an aftermarket recaros (non electric). I know the coding to disable the seat sensor to the GM5 module can be done via NCS Expert but it seems a bit too excessive to setup just for this. Is there an easier way to disable that via any resistor based hardware. Can someone please recommend alternative ?

Thanks in advance for your contribution.

On eBay search for "e46 occupancy mat sensor emulator," and you can buy a little device for $20 that will emulate somebody sitting in the seat. Plugs right in, no cutting wires or any coding needed.

If it were you, would you go this route or code it with NCS expert ? any benefit to either ?

I'd probably just code it out, since it's free (for me) and I have all the software already setup and know how to use it. However, that little device seems to do the trick.
