I have some splitter mounts I’m selling

Figure I’d post this here for the track people.

I cut out some splitter mounts from scraps of carbon. The holes will be drilled. Does not include hardware and may need a little trimming. They fit between the front crash bar and frame rail.

I welded a coupler nut to a steel tab which was riveted and bonded. I can provide the coupler nut and do the welding for an additional charge.

$45 shipped for a pair.

Here is the splitter and mounting

This is the two outer mounts. Ebay shock and clevis joint ($40) and pins/clips from McMaster Carr




Here are the primary mounts. There is a coupler nut welded to a tab which is riveted and bonded to the carbon plate. Then there is an aluminum turnbuckle with a spherical eye at the bottom. Attaches to the splitter using a pin and clip. Might be hard to see but I installed rivet nuts for the M6 bolts.



I bonded aluminum T channel to the splitter. Also used a two piece sleeved screw thingie...forget the name. Have to have the thickness spot on though - WITH LOCTITE!!! All of this stuff vibrates a lot so things come loose.

The pin goes through and voila - splitter is secured!

Here is the back mount. It is c-channel aluminum. I replaced the OE hardware and bonded an M8 nutset to the backside. The reinforcement plate is carbon so this works really well. While there is load on this point, the splitter is being pushed upwards - the level effect on the front half of the splitter. The OE aluminum plate will also be fine.



All of the parts were bought from McMaster Carr or eBay - Spent about $100 on everything.

Made it myself. Saves about 4 lbs but it’s stiffer. That is a lot of layers of carbon. I think I could make it even lighter with added stiffness by using a core material, just haven’t tried yet. I'd also leave more material on the front edge so I could bond the c-channel.

I'd rather just make a new one for you. The one on the car has endured two major oil leaks. The top side cleans up really well, the bottom which is the textured matte side doesn't.

Do you have to tape the chin spoiler area or how do you get enough torque on the stanchions to keep a seal?

The supports are adjustable so the splitter is flush against the bumper. I can't be 100% sure if the splitter isn't flexing downward but I've never scraped the front of the splitter under braking from high speeds. I highly doubt it because I'd have a ton of pebbles and rubber to clear out from the reinforcement plate if it was creating a gap.
