    S54 Hi-Temp O-ring Kit for Cooling System!

    Complete set of Hi-Temp Silicone and Viton O-rings for the Entire S54 Cooling System. Also comes with the Power Steering, SMG Reservoir and Expansion Tank Cap O-ring's!

    Replace the factory Buna orings with higher quality Hi-temp Silicone and Viton O-rings. These O-rings have higher temperature rating and more resistant to compression set.

    Viton is a synthetic rubber and fluoropolymer elastomer that is used in O-rings and other molded or extruded products. It offers the best fluid resistance of any commercial rubber. At high temperatures, Viton retains good mechanical properties compared to other elastomers. It remains substantially elastic and is resistant to oils and chemicals at elevated temperatures.

    With its low permeability to a broad range of substances, Viton resists degradation from a wider variety of chemicals and fluids such as fuels, lubricants and most mineral acids. Other mechanical properties include good resistance to compression, resistance to atmospheric oxidation, sun, climatic conditions, even fungus and mold. Viton displays good electrical properties, too, in low voltage, low-frequency applications.

    As a sealing option, the crucial difference between Buna and Viton is the temperature range the materials function in. Viton is the choice over Buna for high-temperature applications. Viton seals hold indefinitely at temperatures up to 400°F and can last up to 48 hours at temperatures up to 600°F. Buna is effective to 250°F. However, it can effectively seal mechanical objects at low temperatures to –22°F. Viton seals are rendered ineffective at temperatures below 5°F, with the material becoming hard and inflexible.


    Hi-Temp Silicone O-rings are excellent seal materials for static, high temperature applications. Featuring outstanding flex and fatigue life, ozone and UV radiation resistance, physiologically neutral and insulating properties with a temperature range as low as -70 and up to 450 degrees fahrenheit.

      Got mine for future cooling flush! Good to have since OEM cooling hoses from CRP (Rein) have, reportedly, weak orings.

        Could bad O-rings be a cause for Coolant Leak? Have a leak coming from somewhere. Removed the Radiator to see if that was the culprit. If so, I will be interested in these for sure. Thanks in advance.

          It could be yes.

          I replaced my water pump and orings I bought from ECS. They sent two different sized orings for the small water pump pipes which caused it to slightly leak coolant when the car was off. It caused the system to suck air when running which caused over pressurization. I originally thought I had a blown head gasket, luckily it was just a undersized oring which in turn led me to putting this Hi-Temp Oring kit together.
