S54 Fuel Injectors

Just an update to all. Ship date has now been pushed to April 21. Looking less and less like I'm gonna see these things.

this morning got an email from Summit saying they were back in stock and ready to order. I guess not!

April 24th now and not a word from Summit on these things. <sigh>

I just called them. Pushed to May 15th ship date. One guy has been waiting on his order with Summit since December.

so what do you think will happen here? I’m assuming that the manufacture is waiting to get something like 100 orders before they’ll even open the presses and factoring these again or, do you think we’re in a position where we’re more or less stuck with the dealer from here on out?

Honestly, I don't know what happens with respect to being able to purchase our OE injectors. I agree that it is weird, given the numbers of our cars that sold worldwide, that we are already experiencing this on such a critical part that is probably inexpensive to manufacture.

I'm thinking of putting an order to see what happens here. No reason to think mine are bad but, with the way things are going, it may only get more difficult to get these things.

Yep. But hey, BMW has them for $450 each. Yay.

They are, but good luck finding them as nobody has them in stock. Who knows if summit can actually get them, I actually doubt they can since everyone else including fcp and ecs lists them as NLA and not for sale.

I am also looking for the same thing. This Bosch injector vs Genuine BMW parts are like 5-6 times difference. I really hope Bosch can bring this back.

Cleaning, testing, replace o-rings and filter for these injectors pretty much cost the same as the Bosch 62690
