Does anyone know if the black rings on the karb box are supposed to come off? I managed to screw one off and screw my old throttle body boot over it but the rest are glued tight.

My car with 09/04 production could reuse the stock boots. My friend’s car with 10/04 production needed new boots as they were too small. We believe that this is the date cutoff.E46 M3 Coupe - 09/04 Production, 103k miles, Black/Black, 6MT swap, AS 0% kit, BBS RG-R + AS4’s, CSL flash, Karbonius airbox, Euro header + Section 1, Koni Yellow, Xtrons, SAP Delete, lockdowns complete

Thanks for the replies! Boots weren’t the issue here. It was the rings on the box. Old boots worked perfectly once I got the rings offLast edited by skristedja; 05-22-2021, 09:14 PM.

I run the same MAP kit, great setup. It should smooth out as the car figures out what's going on.2004 Silbergrau Metallic 6MT
