    Variable pre-warning zone

    Hello,

A question about the instrument cluster.

What do the shiftlights monitor? Water, oil engine temperature?

Which sensors give the signal for the lamps? someone has information...

I think it was described in the old forum, unfortunately I can't read it there :-)

I'm pretty sure it's oil temp because in ECUWorx MSS54 Binary Tool(phenomenal tool) you can modify where the lights come on and off based on oil temperature.
This is my Unbuild Journal and why we need an oil thread

Actually I believe that by default it's coolant temp, but it can be modified to oil temp?

I would have guessed coolant now.

ECUWorx MSS54 Binary Tool very interesting, could you adjust the display so that it ends at 90 °?

I’ve been running the csl values on all 3 cars for years. They are pretty much spot on what my intuition feels is right, anyway.

The lights turn off from left to right as the oil temp reaches the corresponding temperature.

Are the CSL values what are in that image above you?

No, those are my own values on what I felt was right for me. I was unaware that the CSL had a different warmup light setting.

this is where the values are set in the ECUWorx interface:

Ah, you have to alter the tune in your DME. Using the application beefaroni mentioned is probably the easiest method.

There's a sensor in the oil pan that monitors oil level and oil sensor, part number 12617508003.

and these are the values for oil or water?

How do I get the tool? :-) is that possible in German, too? how do you get the data into the DME? About OBD

                            sorry, ask so much

I thought it was only for level
